In 2014, four Highveld Secondary School learners approached ATNS and Airports Company South Africa’s Management to assist their institution with ICT infrastructure. The two entities responded positively to the request by sponsoring the necessary equipment.

The school has three classes that have ICT solution requirements, namely, an IT centre, CAT centre and a library. Two classes already have computers and both entities have provided the third with computers and related infrastructure.

To date an end-to-end IT solution has been provided. These include 20 computers, two printers, a scanner, and the YTEACH programme* content. Air conditioners have been installed in all three computer labs at the school to monitor and maintain the temperature, air distribution and humidity in the computer laboratory. Educator training on how to use the technology has been provided.
