Overview

The RSA DATA KMZ file is an initiative undertaken by ATNS to illustrate the definitions and complexities of airspace, routes, aerodromes and navigational facilities within South Africa to the public in the interest of safety. It allows the user to visualise airspaces in 3D.

The main source of data is the South African Aeronautical Information Product. The data in the KMZ file is updated periodically and in line with the defined AIRAC cycle dates. This KMZ file may be freely copied, manipulated, adapted or combined with other geospatial information as desired by the user. It allows a gross representation of the airspace, routes, aerodromes and navigational facilities within South Africa. This data is not intended and should not be used for automated flight guidance or other precision activity involving the safety of aircraft and the public.

By accessing the RSA DATA KMZ file, the data user acknowledges their understanding that the data has certain limitations in accuracy and definition. ATNS makes no warranties about the accuracy or completeness of the data contained in the RSA DATA KMZ file. The user is also obligated to ensure that when Google Earth is used to open the KMZ file, that their use of Google Earth is in line with the Terms of Service and Privacy Policy as defined on the Google Earth website.

In no event shall ATNS be liable for any special, indirect, exemplary or consequential damages or any damages whatsoever from the use of the RSA DATA KMZ file.

Although ATNS believes the content to be accurate, complete and current, ATNS makes no warranty as to the accuracy, completeness or currency of the content. It is the user of the KMZ file’s responsibility to verify any information before relying on it. From time to time changes are made to the content herein. ATNS may make changes to the RSA DATA KMZ file and/or the services described herein at any time as new information becomes available.
